Comprehensive Speech and Language Evaluations
Once we have your intake paperwork we will be able to schedule a comprehensive evaluation. Evaluations give us better understanding of a child’s strengths, abilities and challenges. Once the evaluation is administered and the data collected is reviewed we will discuss results and recommendations. Parents will receive a report describing performance on assessments, observations and the recommended treatment plan.

Available in English and/or Spanish
[If your child has been assessed in the last 6 months by another provider we might not have to administer a comprehensive evaluation and may be able to start with therapy sessions right away].
Evaluations FAQ
How long do evaluations take to administer?
Our comprehensive evaluations take between 60-90 minutes to administer, depending on the areas of concern.
What areas are evaluated during a comprehensive evaluation?
We evaluate the following areas as part of our comprehensive evaluation: pragmatic language, receptive language, expressive language, articulation, oral motor, voice, fluency and feeding.
When will results be provided?
We will provide results and recommendation once all the data is reviewed and the report containing the diagnosis and plan of care is finalized. We try to write reports as soon as possible; however, reports can take up to a week from the date of the evaluation administration.
How are children evaluated?
Our comprehensive evaluations are administered in person or via Telehealth. We use a parent/caregiver interview to gather information, formal and informal measures, observations and child-therapist interactions. We determine diagnosis and treatment using standardized tests and clinical observations.
